Who knows what Clingmans Dome is now called? (Its original name - answer below)

1920s Harley Davidson with covered sidecar. With that snow on the ground, I dare say the person in the sidecar was a lot warmer than the driver!

  1. What a great post to match the prompt. That 50s Ford reminded me of my family's '51 Ford (Woodie) station wagon. And oh yeah - the drive-in movies & those boxy clanky metal speakers. Ah, the memories. :) All the pix are great, but the last one with the camouflage elephants is really something!

  2. I've been waiting a long time to use that one of the camouflage elephants during the war.

  4. Great collection! It sure brought back a lot of memories. A few years ago my wife campaigned to go to a drive-in movie as they did not exist in her native England. The nearest one I could find was near Kingsport, TN, so we drove over one evening to watch some family animation feature and eat stale popcorn. It may have had those clunky speaker boxes but I think we listened over a radio connection. She claims she enjoyed it but has never asked to go again.

  5. I love the design of old cars. Many eras had more variety in style and more varied colors. This year I have noticed more color options. We went through a time when white, black, gray and maybe red were the only choices.
